We select and enroll members in rounds, so we encourage you to apply early for the best chance at a position. Applicants who are selected to move forward with the process will be required to attend a group informational session prior to an interview.

Invasive Species Management Specialist – Individual Placement Member
Serve alongside natural resource professionals in partnership with agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and nonprofit organizations. Invasive Species Management Specialists learn hands-on skills related to invasive species monitoring, native vegetation restoration, and conservation efforts.
Outreach & Communications Specialist – Individual Placement Member
Serve alongside natural resource professionals in partnership with agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD), higher education institutions, and nonprofits. Learn hands-on skills in designing educational content, implementing outreach activities, and participating in community events or workshops.
Parks & Trails Technical Support Specialist – Individual Placement Member
Serve alongside natural resource professionals in partnership with agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Learn hands-on skills in utilizing current technology and tools to identify and map park-and-trail features and assets, develop outreach and community initiatives for outdoor recreation, and develop ways to protect and monitor species people may encounter in parks and trails environments.
Forestry Support Specialist – Individual Placement Member
Serve alongside natural resource professionals in partnership with agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and nonprofit organizations. Learn hands-on skills related to forest management, including field survey and data collection, silviculture, Best Management Practices, and site evaluations. Tasks may include using a variety of field tools, navigating with a map and compass, public outreach, and tasks related to urban and community forestry.
Field Crew Member
Serve outdoors restoring habitat, managing natural resources, and occasionally responding to natural disasters or community needs.
Field Crew Leader
Serve outdoors leading crew members while restoring habitat, managing natural resources, and occasionally responding to natural disasters or community needs. Grow leadership skills while supporting a crew of 4 or 5 members and serving as the primary liaison between project hosts and program staff.
Field Specialist
Provide training, education, coordination, and leadership to AmeriCorps members and other participants. Field Specialists will support fellow AmeriCorps members in achieving personal and program success through the principles of teamwork and service-learning while completing natural resource service projects.
Summer Youth Corps Youth Crew Member
Summer Youth Corps (SYC) Youth Crew members will participate in a rigorous program of work, education, and training, and will complete environmental restoration projects. Projects may include trail construction and maintenance, foot bridge building, landscaping, campsite development, and invasive plant removal.
Intertribal Land Corps Crew Member
The Intertribal Land Corps Crew will complete challenging and impactful conservation and service projects in partnership with the National Park Service. As an affinity-based crew, priority will be given to members of affiliated tribes or individuals who self-identify as Indigenous and want to gain experience in natural resource management.
Outdoor Skills Instructor
Outdoor Skills Instructors provide basic camping instruction, paddling instruction, and environmental education for the I Can Paddle! and I Can Camp! programs. I Can Paddle! and I Can Camp! are part of several I Can! programs, sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). I Can! programs introduce Minnesota families to a variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, paddling, and biking.
Summer Youth Corps Crew Leader
Summer Youth Corps Crew Leaders will motivate, direct and coordinate a crew of young people in a rigorous program of work, education and training. Crew Leaders will be responsible for maintaining consistent discipline and fostering positive crew morale by utilizing teamwork among youth participants completing natural resource projects. While serving alongside another AmeriCorps member, the crew leader will provide collaborative leadership for the crew, ensure safety procedures are followed and serve as the liaison with project partners.
Summer Youth Corps Field Specialist
Summer Youth Corps American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter/Crew Leaders motivate, direct and coordinate an American Sign Language (ASL) crew of young people in a rigorous program of work, education and training. The Interpreter/Crew Leader will be responsible for maintaining consistent discipline and fostering positive crew morale by utilizing teamwork among youth participants to complete natural resource projects. While serving alongside another AmeriCorps member, the crew leader will provide collaborative leadership for the crew, ensure safety procedures are followed and serve as the liaison with project partners.
Seasonal Field Crew Leader
Lead crews in completing natural resource conservation projects such as exotic species management, herbicide application, stream bank stabilization and erosion control, timber stand improvement, prescribed burning, trail construction & maintenance, tree planting, basic carpentry, wild land fire suppression and emergency response in partnership with public land management agencies such as the DNR, USFWS, NPS, SWCDs, etc. Facilitatee training, education, coordination, and leadership to support a positive and safe experience for fellow AmeriCorps Crew Members.
Seasonal Field Crew Member
Receive on-the-job training to learn natural resources management skills and put those skills into practice completing habitat restoration projects throughout the Midwest.
Seasonal Field Specialist
Complete natural resource service projects as well as provide training, education, coordination and leadership to ensure a positive and safe experience for regional AmeriCorps members. Primary responsibilities include: fostering AmeriCorps member development through experiential learning, providing technical skills training, monitoring field safety and conducting equipment maintenance.
Intertribal Land Corps Crew Leader

The Maajii-akii-gikenjigewin (Starting out in Earth Conservation) crew or the FDL Indigenous Conservation Corps (ICC) Crew completes challenging and impactful conservation and service projects throughout the Fond du Lac Reservation and within the 1837, 1842, and 1854 ceded territories. The FDL ICC crew will work with current FDL Resource Management professionals to gain valuable experience and skills, to prepare for future careers in the natural resources field.
Maajii-akii-Gikenjigewin Field Crew Leader
The Maajii-akii-gikenjigewin (Starting out in Earth Conservation) crew or the FDL Indigenous Conservation Corps (ICC) Crew completes challenging and impactful conservation and service projects throughout the Fond du Lac Reservation and within the 1837, 1842, and 1854 ceded territories. Individual Placement members serve in a single placement setting at nonprofits, local government agencies, or higher education institutions. The four open seasonal positions include:
