SNF alumni reconnect for service project reunion
Alumni from all four years of the seasonal Superior National Forest program spent a weekend in August reconnecting while doing what they love: trail brushing, camping, canoeing, sharing meals and reminiscing. The two-day gathering included trail work at Bear Head Lake State Park followed by alumni time at South Kawishiwi River Campground near the BWCA. Twenty alums enjoyed dinner, a slideshow, swag giveaways and sharing memories of their time in the Corps. The SNF program was funded from 2009-2012 by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). During the program’s four-year run, the Corps created 182 seasonal jobs, operating between Memorial Day and Labor Day each year.
