The Energy Corps program equips young adults with hands-on training and real-world experience in energy efficiency, facility auditing, and natural resource stewardship.

Members receive classroom and field instruction to conduct surveys of public and nonprofit buildings—evaluating HVAC systems, drafting, plug loads, building envelopes, and overall energy performance. These audits provide project hosts with clear, actionable insights to improve building efficiency, reduce carbon footprints, and create healthier community spaces. Members also perform basic retrofits such as sealing attics, patching air leaks, and upgrading lighting.

Beyond energy audits, Energy Corps Members contribute to a wide range of conservation and community resilience projects. Teams may restore habitat, manage natural resources, build and maintain trails, stabilize stream banks, plant trees, and assist with invasive species management. Members may also support local communities during natural disasters or other urgent needs.

The Energy Corps program offers a challenging, rewarding service experience that builds technical skills, supports local communities, and prepares participants for future careers in clean energy, sustainability, and natural resources.
