Fair days and fun times
Volunteers and staff of Conservation Corps Minnesota enjoyed meeting hundreds of visitors during 12 days at the Minnesota State Fair! More than 200 people signed up for program information and nearly two dozen alumni were handed free chico bags as they signed up for our Friends & Alumni Association.
Thanks to 70 volunteers – including alumni, current corps members, board, staff, family and friends – we kept the booth fully staffed for the full 12-day run and made great connections with many fairgoers interested in what we do. With our popular location – one of the Fair’s best across from the DNR fish pond – volunteers quickly enjoyed chatting with a steady stream of visitors about our programs and their connections to the Corps. We gave away hundreds of recycled pens and pencils as prizes for our invasive species bean bag toss game, which nicely complemented the DNR’s brand new invasive species exhibit. Thanks to all who volunteered and came to visit, especially CCC alumni, Monty Dehn and John Obinger.
