Welcome new staff!

This month, we are happy to welcome two new staff members to our St. Paul headquarters:

As our new Outreach Associate, Valerie Steffl will coordinate outreach for our Friends & Alumni Association and volunteer network, lead social media efforts and assist with fundraising and general communications. Previously, Valerie worked with Upward Bound and completed an AmeriCorps term as a youth development specialist in Brooklyn, New York. She also served as St. Cloud State University Chronicle assistant news editor, The Minnesota Project intern and Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation communications and outreach coordinator. Valerie holds bachelor’s degrees in sociology and mass communications from St. Cloud State University.

In his position as Program Coordinator (previously held by James Adkinson), Matt Case will coordinate the Home Energy Squads, Apprenticeship Academy and individual AmeriCorps placements. He served as a corps member in the Young Adult Program from 2009-2012 in various leadership positions. Most recently, Matt provided key leadership while on emergency response deployment to the East Coast after Hurricane Sandy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
