Thank you, partners!

We couldn’t do what we do without our dedicated and generous partners. Here is a shout-out to one from our Northwest District Partners!

Portage Learning Center is a residential environmental learning center that our NW district has been partnering with for years. “The Center crew went through a really rough year this last year, as their executive director unexpectedly passed away,” said NW District Manager, Anja Hogan, “but they’ve always been such gracious hosts. At the end of 2016 celebration, they helped facilitate rock wall climbing and let us build model wind turbines to try to create the most efficient wind turbine design.”

Deep Portage has been providing quality environmental education programs and services for over 15 years and is located on 6,307 acres of beautiful glacial hills, lakes, rivers and bogs.  The Center serves groups, organizations, area residents and visitors with weekly classes, interpretive programs, wildflower garden displays, weekend retreats and study groups, land use demonstrations, summer camps, and recreation opportunities that includes birding, hiking, hunting, and skiing.
