National Public Lands Day

People planting tree

Join us for a community volunteer event on National Public Lands Day.

We are seeking volunteers to assist in a planting project at Pig’s Eye Regional Park and celebrate National Park Lands Day. This event is in partnership with the National Park Service, Mississippi Park Connection, Urban Roots, REI, and the MN Department of Natural Resources.

Groups have been working for years in the vicinity of Pig’s Eye Regional Park to provide habitat for wildlife and improve water quality. This year, we are looking forward to reforesting the spaces that have lost trees due to the emerald ash borer. We will be helping to plant nearly 300 trees – a diverse mix of species that will be resilient amidst our changing climate.

Date: Saturday, September 25; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
