Where Are They Now? Alumni Highlight: Sam Fryer
Let’s get to know Sam Fryer! Sam served in the Individual Placement Program in 2024, where he was placed with a SWCD and did projects with MAWQCP (What is that? Find out below!).
What kind of work did you do when you were in the Corps?
I worked within the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program, helping conduct assessments for farmers who volunteered for the program.
Where are you now?
I am employed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture as a deputy certification specialist within the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program, and am working towards becoming an area certification specialist.
What was the most personally meaningful part of your experience with Conservation Corps?
Being able to have a demonstrable influence on the environment.
How did the experience shape your career/life?
I wouldn’t have a stable career path without it, and am currently working the kind of job I dreamed of having.
