Youth help Rebuilding Together Twin Cities
In early March, 36 Conservation Corps youth program alumni, friends and family spent a Saturday afternoon volunteering with Rebuilding Together Twin Cities, a nonprofit that is currently working to repair houses in North Minneapolis damaged by last summer’s tornado. Participants helped organize the warehouse to prepare for National Rebuilding Day in April. Our project host posted this on our Facebook page: “Thanks again to the awesome Conservation Corps volunteers who came out this weekend to help us organize our warehouse! The work you did will help us help more homeowners in need live independently in homes that are safe and warm this year!”
See a cool time-lapse video of volunteers in action.
After the warehouse was put in order, youth and their families came together for a potluck dinner and to reminisce about their Corps experience. Conservation Corps’ new Youth Advisory Council, made up of Summer Youth Corps and Youth Outdoors alumni, assisted in planning and organizing this event.
