Crews plant trees for national commemoration
Hundreds of youth from across the globe gathered at the Minneapolis Convention Center April 11-14 for the annual National Service-Learning Conference, hosted by the National Youth Leadership Council. Every year the Council plants trees in the city where they meet to commemorate the loss of participants and advocates in youth leadership work. Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa crews and Nebraska youth assisted with planting two basswood trees in Theodore Wirth Park. It was a cold, rainy and blustery day but all participants enthusiastically helped install the trees in a park area hit by last year’s tornado.
