Corps crews continue the legacy today. In August, field specialists and coordinators finished construction on a log shelter at Coffee Pot Landing near LaSalle Recreation Area, north of Itasca State Park on the Mississippi River. What started as a skills-training project became a great opportunity for many staff and crew members to learn CCC-era skills of stone masonry and log construction.
