Conservation Corps recognized as a 21CSC program
Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa was recently certified as a 21st Century Conservation Service Corps (21CSC), a national designation that should lead to more conservation work through seven federal agencies. 21CSC is an initiative of the Obama Administration that seeks to put American young people and veterans to work, protect public natural and historical resources and develop the next generation of skilled workers and citizens; a perfect match for what we do! The Corps is part of an initial group of 91 organizations that received the certification, and we are already a Public Lands Corps (established in 1993), which designates some Department of Interior projects to service corps. The 21CSC certification will eventually create the same opportunities though other federal agencies. Read more about 21CSC.
