A New Perspective

It’s really nice to see all of the women who are invested in working in the great outdoors. The north district is mostly women, staff, field specialist, crew leaders, and members alike. It just goes to show we can do anything be anything we want. According to Harriet Tubman ” every great dream begins with a dreamer, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world.”

The world is for anyone and everyone who wants it. If you want it you can have it. As long as you believe you can, you will. My family had very traditional views on how women should be. The Corps allowed me to be who I wanted to be and do what I want to do. I now have a different perspective on life. I feel like there are no barriers that I have to overcome. I feel like I don’t have to prove my self worth to anyone. That my best is enough. There are no higher standards. I can just be me. According to Richelle E. Goodrich “Believing in yourself means more than simply believing in your own ultimate success; it means believing you will survive failures, disappointments, rejections, and criticism but still persist.” I feel like I can successfully do that with the help of the corps. I believe now that I can do anything no matter what stands in my way. That even though there may be setbacks I can and will get through it.
