Virtual Career Event Engages AmeriCorps Members with Career Resources
This year, CCMI’s Careers After the Corps event went virtual to support social distancing practices and to more easily allow Corps members, alumni, and panelists from across Minnesota and Iowa to participate. The event was held on Friday, November 13 via Zoom and included career panels, networking, and tips on resume writing and interviewing. Career panels featured employers from government (local, state, & federal), for-profit, and nonprofit sectors. Nine partners participated in the career panels, sharing about their personal career paths, lessons learned, and sector-specific tips about applying for a job. CCMI staff, alumni council members, and our partner from the National Park Service, finished out the final session of the event with information about Federal Resumes & Navigating USA Jobs and General Resume Tips & Translating Your Service to Skills.
We appreciate our partner panelists, current members, alumni, and staff for making this first virtual event a success and investing time to share about environmental careers!
Thanks to our partner panelists: National Park Service, MN DNR, Dickinson County Conservation Board, Davey Tree, Landbridge Ecological, Natural Shore Technologies, The Nature Conservancy, Voyageur Outward Bound, and Mississippi Park Connection.
